Vintage Schwinn coppertone Varsity hybrid BC= feb of 1967. Note : the last year of this color was 1968. Also, bronze flex was added to the radiant paint recipe in 1966 which gives the bike more sparkle than the earlier radiant colors of schwinn. Notably violet, blue and this bikes coppertone paint as well. Coppertone paint and very presentable oe graphics as shown bicycle was disassbled to the cups and 100 % serviced using lucas tacky red.

Bearings and cones replaced where needed. The bike started as a 10 speed road bike and has been turned into a 5 speed indexing cruiser. With more room than a Schwinn racer or Schwinn traveler and has the awesome rake of the iconic Varsity. New headbadge new tires tubes and strips nos Schwinn innerwires and new grey housing vintage Weinman brake levers. Correct for Schwinn new koolstop brake pads (best brakes for steel rims imo) new rustbuster chain new Schwinn coppertone teardrop bubble grips nos correct gulco reflector nos Schwinn , plastic , chainstay, paint protector. Very hard to find NOS 27 Chicago Schwinn fenders and braces. Schwinn spoke reflectors Schwinn generator light set (working) custom chainguard using prewar style and a schwinn exersizer chainguard. Wheels are true for lateral and radial dish to 2mm or less. Typical hop at the weld. The bike had the old oe. It has been replaced with NOS shimano 1st gen Shimano S. (1980 ish) ty 15, my15 and a Shimano z012-15 sprocket ; No more looking for a gear.

Schwinn Collegiate chainring Schwinn rack, Schwinn pedals and Schwinn 7881 cruiser handlebars. It even has a NOS Schwinn spoke guard One very cool bike and nothing was spared on the build but it is vintage. It has seen wear, tear, neglect and the march of time. Will package well in bike box with plenty of pipe foam , zip ties, bubblewrap , misc cardboard and plastic wrap.
