Vintage Original Chicago Schwinn Twinn Tandem Cruiser Bicycle Bendix Messenger

  

Vintage Green 26 Adult & Family/Teen size 1971 Schwinn Twinn Tandem Bicycle w Bendix Coaster Brake Hub. Serial #: DG067725 (front head tube). Rims are Schwinn S7 26 inch rims.

Has front & rear brakes. Front brake handlebar mounted brake lever w a side-pull caliper brake. 26x 1 3/4 Kenda Tires look good to use in my opinion. They hold air well and have good tread.

Upon inspection I did not see any cracks or dryness. I do not know their age- they are the 1 component which is not original to the bicycle. If you'd like more photos of anything please ask, I do not mind taking/sending extra photos. As a gently used 50 year old bicycle, there are some blemishes to it's paint and rims, chrome including some rust pitting. The areas of paint with the most blemishes are the front drivers top tube and especially their down tube.

Also both passenger's forward face of the seat tube. Upon close inspection (run fingers around the side/lip of rims) I found the front rim has 6 dents on one side and 3 on the other: I have pics of both sides of front rims shown in the photo section, however these blemishes are hard to see in the photos.

The rear rim has 2 bumps/minor dents on each side. Also the rear rim has a section which is about 1/7th its circumference that has more rust pitting than other areas shown.

My friend and I took the bicycle for a 1 mile ride in order to write this add; it rode well, we were able to stop the bicycle with the rear coaster brake. The Front brake worked also-- however The front brake mounting hardware is missing 1/2 of a circular 2-peice item which holds the brake steady in place, so the front brake is not steady in place until the hardware peice is added to the mount.
