Vintage Early Schwinn Stingray Banana Seat Muscle Bike White Checkerboard Mirror

  

A nice used Schwinn Stingray Checkerboard Mirror. The mirror has the white Stingray sticker on the back of the mirror, which only the early mirrors had, after a period of time the stickers were changed to silver foil. The mirror is very nice and a super mint white sticker. The Stingray printing on the sticker is still very bright with no real fading to speak of, and the edges of the sticker aren't curled or damaged at all. The checkboard painted part of the mirror is neat perfect with just a couple of small marks from being mounted.

The mount for the post for the mirror where it is mounted to the mirror housing looks slightly pushed inward on the bottom edge. It may be able to be pulled a bit and straitened. The clamp and hardware for mounting are also very nice with the clamp having the correct Made in Japan stamp on the outside.

Sadly, the mirror glass is cloudy from age which is the only thing I wish I could change about the mirror. I haven't cleaned or detailed this mirror at all and with a little cleaning it would be even better. This would be great on a mint original1968 or 1969 Krate, Stingray, or Fastback.
