Vintage 1968 Schwinn Superior 16 x 1 3/4 Muscle Bike Runabout Whitewall Tire

  
A vintage Schwinn Superior 16 x 1 3/4 whitewall front tire. This is the stock tire on the 1968 Schwinn Run-A-Bout and Midget 16 inch muscle bikes. This tire was Made in the USA by Uniroyal and is dated UV for the fourth quarter of 1968. It has the early red inner core. The tire is actually NOS and still fairly soft and ready to mount, but it has a crack in the tread in one place on the tire. The rest of the tire seems fine and it should mount and display fine.

I'm not sure if you can ride on the tire though. The tire has just a little darkening from age but the whitewall is pretty whit. I have not cleaned this tire at all, so there is some dirt and marks from other tires rubbing against it.

This will also fit a Schwinn Krate if you wanted to go with whitewall tires on your bike. A hard to find tire if you need one. Perfect for a mint original bike or for your best restoration.
