Vintage 1967 Schwinn Stingray 3-Speed Stik-Shift Coppertone Sturmey Archer. We just recently received this beautiful Schwinn Stingray.
A very impressive specimen and survivor from 1967. Stik shift works great and shifts the 67 stamped Sturmey Archer hub correctly. Bike appears mechanically sound during our inspection in the stand but for obvious reasons we did not ride it.
This bike is nearly all original with the exception that the seat looks like later vintage reproduction or recovered by Pete. Also, the tires may be of later vintage but are both properly marked as Schwinn products. Additionally, looks like front fork was touched up with matching paint. Could use dart decals or stencils. Now for the really good stuff!Front, Schwinn Westwind 20 x 1-¾. Rear, Schwinn Stingray Slik 20 x 2. Front, Schwinn Script 28 hole. Rear, Sturmey Archer Model AW stamped with 67 with 16-tooth Cog.
Hand Grips matching glitter coppertone/gold. Correct for 1967 with smooth-style lever. Original round water transfer decal has some wear. Seat is correct but probably a recover or reproduction. Seat post clamp is correct cadmium plated with S bolt.
Seat Reflector 3 with vintage State Approved (As required by law in most states) decal in great condition. Pedals: Schwinn Approved waffle style.Sprocket: Lucky-7 style (7 hole) 6 36 Teeth. Sissy bar Schwinn style with Q bolts attaching it to seat.
Chain guard all original with silk screen graphics and correct vintage pan-head mounting bolts. IT IS REQUIRED THAT A PROFESSIONAL BICYCLE MECHANIC COMPLETE THE ASSEMBLY OF THE BICYCLE.
