Vintage 1964 Schwinn "DELUXE" J-39 Stingray 20 Boys Bicycle - Used! It is listed as accurately as possible. There are lots of photos and the description is lengthy.. If you have questions I will try to answer as best I can, thanks! Frame dated H4 (August 1964).

Fork dated 8+4 (August 1964). Original Radiant Coppertone paint in good condition with scrapes, scratches, etc. Most notably a scratch through the top tube Schwinn (left side) screen. Screens are original other than the down tube, it`s a new water slide decal as there was nothing there. Not perfect but as you can see, it`s pretty nice. Wide butterfly bars have minor scrapes on top and nice chrome. They are knurled and stamped "SCHWINN". Stem is marked "MAX HT". Crank (`64) and lucky 7 sprocket have nice chrome. Rims are 28 spoke Schwinn, both center stamped. S-2 rear "Schwinn Tubular S-2" and front Schwinn Tubular S-7. Nice chrome, no major damage and original spokes.

Rear hub is a Bendix RB2 `Red Band` coaster brake. Tire is a Made in U. " Schwinn "Studded" 20" x 2.125 whitewall with fine sidewall cracks, minor separation and some cracks in the tread. It`s clock dated 2nd quarter (April, May, June) 1964.

Holds air fine and looks nice but I wouldn`t ride on it. Front hub is Schwinn script, axle is dated Z-4 (1964) Tire is a Made in U. " Schwinn "Westwind" 20" x 1 3/4 whitewall with fine sidewall cracks, minor separation and some cracks in the tread. It is also clock dated 2nd quarter (April, May, June) 1964. Both fenders shine brightly, are razor edge with very nice chrome and very few flaws. Solo polo seat is an original vinyl Persons U. (that has been refurbished) and has a new rear tag. It looks decent and has no rips or cuts but has minor flaws. Sissy has a scrapes on top and some chrome loss.

It is stamped Persons U. Reflector is original, large 3 1/4 2 pie on an original bracket.

Post is original and has the early style, long "AS" stamped clamp. Clean "chubby" white grips are original with minor wear and scrapes. Pedals are `64 large diamond `non-reflector` marked "Made in Germany" They have the blocks that don`t spin and the Schwinn logos have scrapes but are somewhat readable. Comes with NOS streamers and flag caps as pictured. Everything works smoothly and the rims run straight...

Will need to be cleaned and adjusted upon arrival but a very nice 54 year old bike. It`s a clean example with no junk parts. Please look at the pictures closely.
