Fully restored CIRCA 1957 Schwinn 3 speed touring road bike. All original parts except for the tires (Continental), and pedals, (Campagnolo), clips and straps. Everything else is original to the bike, to the best of my knowledge. I do not know the tubing but it would be whatever Schwinn used in the early 50's.
Bike was refinished to its original Schwinn color, by Gary Cole here in Miami about 7 years ago. Gary has since retired from frame painting and restoration, but he was the best in the business here in South Florida, back in the day. The Nervex lugs and frame box paint, was beautifully done by hand. The bike has not more than 50 miles on it since the restoration. The brakes are Weinmann 730 Deluxe with original brake levers and quick release cable levers on the calipers.Drop style handlebars with adjustable duel position Schwinn Built stem. Note that the wrap on the bars is original, and and therefore old. If you are purchasing to ride - and the bike is fully operational, you may want to tape over the original coverings to protect them. Though the brake cables and housing have been replaced, the three speed cable is original, and was left for originality purposes. The three speed is fully operational , but cable housing is also original and though fully operational, the housing is old.
The 3 speed hub is Sturmey Archer AW and is date stamped "52", The serial number is not really helpful in identifying the exact year on this vintage Paramount but with some help from the SCHWINN PARAMOUNT registry the 1957 date seem pretty accurate. The front hub is Schwinn Built, and the Crankset is Schwinn Built for the Paramount and is so marked. The saddle is a Brooks B17.
