BOYS 26 INCH MODEL W11 (21 FRAME). I've owned this bike since 1960. It has all of the dents, dings, paint loss, scrapes and scratches that come with a ten year old learning to ride. It's been stored inside my parents house for the last fifty-six years. My father bought it in 1960 and it's been mine since that time.
I don't know if he bought it new or used but I imagine used from the bike shop shown on the decal. It has new Kenda 26 X 1-3/8" X 1-3/4" tires. You will also get the original Schwinn tires that came with the bike. The original tires are cracked from age but will still hold air.I've replaced the rim strips, the rear brake cable and housing and front and back brake pads. You will receive the worn original brake pads. The original steel rims are beat up and dented so they are wavy all around. Some of the nipples are bad. A few spokes are not perfectly straight.
The majority of spokes are good. If you are going to ride the bike you might want to replace them with new rims. The frame and forks are original and never structurally damaged. This bike has a 21 frame. The paint is all original as well as decals and pedals, crank, grips, seat, lights, hubs, crankshaft, chain, brake calipers, hand brakes (rear wire excluded).
The HALUS front light needs a bulb. The rear light comes on when the generator is engaged. The 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub works and shifts into all 3 positions. I have lubed the front hub but only injected grease into the rear hub.
The rear Sturmey Archer hub is dated 55. Also, I'm a member of several of the bike forums and no one seems to have one in their collection (same year, model and condition). That's true, but only because people don't price their bikes higher. When people begin to price their complete bikes higher than the price of parting them out then the parting out of complete bikes will stop.
