This is a prewar Schwinn dx frame forks, sprocket and crank. The crank is dated 1940. I had sand blasted the head tube area and the crank area then noticed the original paint pattern so I stopped blasting so I could copy the paint design and that's how far I got, I had sprayed some red paint lightly over the areas so it wouldn't rust. I couldn't find the truss bars or bottom bracket set, it originally had a tank, rack and chainguard but they are somewhere in my bike piles. The frame is straight and doesn't have any deep rust pits, the rear fender mounting areas are nice, someone drilled extra holes on the head tube for a large Schwinn headbadge but the original is the small badge, there is a small dent on the seat tube bar see picture #10, the fork is straight, the crank has very little chrome left, the sprocket is straight but a lot of chrome loss as well.
Great project to restore or rat out. Check out all the pictures.
