Schwinn Sting Competition BMX Bike Vintage The Old School

  
June 1980 build date Sting Competition. It's not a Frankenstein bike.

Besides the brake cable, grips, and tires, everything is vintage to the 80s. Besides those parts, the seat, post, clamp, and possibly the pedals, everything else is stock from the day it came from the shop. The whole bike is still pretty fresh, even the freewheel has tight crisp action and sound.

The stem has some scratches (see pic), the front rim has a silver ring that runs around the whole wheel on the brake surface. It's not a scratch, its just a 1/16 strip that is not anodized (see pic). There are no dents, dings, or deep scratches on the frame forks or bars. Stickers are all original, bar sticker is peeling, no SBC stickers on the forks. I will be posting detailed pictures in the next few days.

Frame: 6/1980 Schwinn Sting Competition, chrome, no headtube badge. Fork: 2nd variation with larger relief hole, chrome. Seat: Ariake Jaguar II Shotgun, blue. Seatpost: Fluted twisted post, blue, with silver shim. Clamp: Cycle Pro, blue, double stamp error on the size marking.

Was 25.4, changed to 28.6 (see pic). Cranks: Stock 1pc, with mushroom bearing cap, silver. Chainring: Schwinn Sting 44t, blue.
