This boy's bike has been significantly restored with new tires, spokes, pedals, stripped and painted with automotive paint, and with many parts re-chromed (handle bars, seat clamp, crank arm). Some parts are still original chrome - see photos. The paint is good, but not perfect as detailed in photos. The serial number on this bike shows a manufacture date of 5/25/1951 and I believe it is a 1952 or 1953 model -perhaps Spitfire or Bantam.
It has a coaster brake and the chain is a skip tooth chain and sprocket drive. This would have been one of the last years that Schwinn produced skip tooth bikes. The frame is a 16" frame and the tires are 24" x 2.125.
