The B17 is Brook's flagship model it was introduced in the late 1800s, before the Turn of the Century, and still iconic and popular today. At Lux Low we Restore lots of Antique Troxel, Mesinger, and Early Brooks Saddles for our Top Restorations, you will find this Leather saddle on some of our budget minded restorations as a less costly stylish performance enhanced option. We particularly like the Black Rails, Imperial " Carved " Cutout, and Softened Brown Leather leather Saddles for there blending with Vintage & Antique Bikes.
This Brooks B17 Imperial Saddle is a Iconic Classic Saddle that is meant for angled riding position on a Road or Mountain Bike. It has a High Quality Durable Vegetable Tanned Leather Top with 7mm x 7mm Steel rails.
The saddle is approximately 10 3/4" or 275mm nose to tail long and around 175mm or about 7" wide. The Seat Weighs around 525 grams or a tad over 1 pound.
Choices are: Black, Brown, Honey, Teal Blue, or Softened with a option of Carved or a Special. A Special has larger hand hammered copper rivets and is a special edition saddle. Some Versions are Limited Editions that you may only find here.
The Ti option is a Special Lightweight Titanium Rail saddle. The NOS Ti Brown Sprinter Saddle is a New Old Stock Limited Edition Narrow B17 Special Racing Saddle with Titanium Rails, It is numbered with Paperwork and Commemorates Early Racing Saddles, The NOS Ti Brown Sprinter is a Gorgeous Saddle, weighs around 408 grams and is No Longer Made. The Carved saddle has the Iconic Imperial Cut out for pressure relief, extra flex, & comfort when riding.
The Softened is just that, it is a softer treatment that will require less break in time, Softened is only available in Tan and has a nice retro vintage look. The seat has 7mm rails and will work with newer integrated seat posts or will require a 7/8" seat pan clamp to use with a 7/8" top seatpost, 7/8" clamps are common to all new seats, and Vintage Schwinn seat posts have an 5/8" top (a size no longer used), You will need a Newer 7/8 top Schwinn Post or Shim to use with the clamp.
Your Purchasing One Seat or Clamp of your Choice from the Menu. Your Selection will show your Choice for Visual Inspection. The 7/8 Clamp is an Add on item, Please Add Both to your Cart and check out through your Cart for discounts.

NOTE: Leather Saddles are a Luxury, Relationship, and a Responsibility. The Seat will come real hard and will break in and shape to your body over time with use. You'll need to make sure you oil your saddle when it needs it, otherwise it'll dry out, crack and become worthless. I would follow Brooks Care Recommendations because Brooks is vegetable tanned and old leather working techniques are not recommended.
A Leather Saddle is an investment and is not for one who wants a care free seat that can be left in the rain. You can't avoid getting caught in the rain (it will happen) but with good care it will last and be a saddle you love.
