Beautiful Vintage 1956 Schwinn Red Jaguar Mark II Deluxe 3 Speed Bicycle NICE! Highly equipped Schwinn full tank with horn, full metal lit rack, front wire rack, ball light and 3 speed. As deluxe as they come. First year for the middleweight Jaguar, and top of the line for Schwinn in 1956.

Even outsold the Phantom, with it's 3 speed hub and caliper brakes it made for a nicer ride. Hard to find these Jags in nice complete condition, and this one is real nice (not mint). It has a'59 Jag seat on it, a much nicer seat to ride, and it's in very good condition- no rips or cuts. Observations: Original metallic Opalescent Red paint is nice, has some wear, scratches and paint loss, mostly on rack. Some dings in the fenders, and a small ding in each side of the tank. Decals have wear but are pretty intact and look good, better than usual. 26 S-7 wheels look decent, new w/w tires 26 x 1 3/4. Chrome on hubs is nice, Sturmey Archer rear hub is stamped 56, front has Schwinn script. Early screw style pedals look good. Lighted rack with correct light switch, untested. Aluminum rack looks straight, missing blue tag.

Weimann small round tag still hanging on the caliper cable. Ball light looks really nice, untested. Horn in tank untested but battery tray looks like new.

Nice and desirable red grips (later ones came with white). Cables look decent, some wear on coating of shifter cable. Tested and is riding and shifting/braking.

Have no idea when it was last serviced, so for safety best to check that before riding. Picked it up some time ago from another collector, and we're downsizing our collection. Everything appears correct, but since bike is 61 years old can't say for sure that everything is original.
