These 28 Wheels will help you get your 1896 to 1934 Wood Wheel Bike back on the Road with a Nice look and Superior Performance. This Wheel set is a Great Replacement or Second wheel set for your Wheelman Antique 28 Safety Tire Bike. The Wheel set is top notch, but considered a budget wheel set for used original bikes, I just don't think its high enough grade for a full restoration, Still a great wheel set to get your old wood wheel bike on the road. This 28" x 1 1/2" Lux Low Wheel set is made with High Quality Components: Black Velocity Blunt 35 Alloy Clincher Rims, WheelSmith spokes, Good Old American Vintage Coaster Brake Hub for Skiptooth Chains, and Cream White Schwalbe Delta Cruiser Tires.

The Velocity Blunt 35 Rims have a profile that mimics Antique Wood and Steel Covered Wood Rims, making this a great substitute for the original. We also went the extra mile and hand striped the rims with Cream Pin Striping for that Classic Vintage look.

The wheels are laced with WheelSmith Stainless Steel Straight 14 Gauge Spokes. The Rear hub is a Totally Rebuilt New Departure Model D Coaster Brake, the innards are in top condition and the outside may show wear good for blending on a used original paint bike. The Front is a New 32 hole Front Hub with Locking Cones and 5/16 axle that offers better service than other Vintage front hubs. The tires are New Schwalbe Delta Cruiser Bike Tires, which are one of our Tech Tires Featuring: a Nice Smooth Tread Pattern for Easy rolling, and have the Puncture Protection System Kevlar®Guard (a protective Kevlar layer that is stronger, safer, more flexible, and smooth rolling with lower resistance).

The Tires are 28" x 1.40" which is a hair smaller than 28"x1.5" Wood Tubular Size Tires (You would be hard pressed to be able to see the difference). Tires have Logos on both sides and No Reflex (So No a Reflective Stripe like most of our other tires). Tire Size is 700 x 35 also considered 28" X 1.40" and the ETRTO is 37-622.

This Lux Low 28" Wheel set is a Nice Replacement or Second Wheel set for 28" Wood Wheel Bicycle. Pros: The wheel set has correct size and spacing and will work well with your 28 bike fenders, The use of smaller wheels will give you that stupid looking space between the fenders and tires.

Technical Mumbo Jumbo: These 28" wheels are also Considered 29" or 700c Clincher wheels with the use of 700 x 38 or 700 x 40 tire it produces a 28" X 1.50" wheels.

If you used bigger tires it produces a 29er wheelset. You CANNOT use smaller 700 road tires because the rims are too wide. These wheels are appropriate Wood Wheel replacements with correct sizing for your Classic Antique 28 Wood Wheel Bike and Good for a 29er Cruiser also.
