1982 SCHWINN WORLD SPORT MENS 10 SPEED ROAD BIKE VINTAGE VARSITY/CONTINENTAL 82. Here is an original 1980s VINTAGE The serial number is 1029204. The serial head badge number appears to be 0542 mens SCHWINN "WORLD SPORT" 10-speed road touring bike with 27 wheels. It is in the original and very appealing dark red colored factory paint. This a HARD to find better quality Schwinn road bike!

If you like cool original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool mens Schwinn "X-Tra Lite" lightweight butted tubing frame and forks with original paint and decals, aluminum 3-piece cranks, drop style handlebars with black tape, SR aluminum neck, aluminum twin stick shifters, Suntour Honor rear derailleur, Schwinn front derailleur, upgraded Element road bike seat/saddle, Center Pull brakes, rat trap pedals, and more!

I believe the bike to be mostly all original parts from when it was new. (see pics and be your own judge). Remember the Schwinn Continental and Varsity bikes? They were very popular back in the day!

Now you rarely see them in any condition. Bring back some fond memories and make some great new memories as well!

The tires are 27x1 1/4. They are old vintage tires and do hold air.

The bike has chrome non Schwinn wheels front and rear. (at least they are not knurled). This bike has some better features not found on most bikes of the era! The bike is an original 10-SPEED and the gears do operate. Check out the cool large sprocket on the rear with the Skip tooth style gearing!

The hand controlled brakes are operable as well. (may need minor fine tuning adjustment). DIMENSIONS The standover height is approx 31. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 31 1/2. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 21.

The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.

NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it. It has been in long term storage and cannot wait to be enjoyed once again!

The paint looks ok for a 40+ year old bike! (has obvious chips scratches etc) HAPPY this one was never repainted! The chrome is shiny but not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them.

(most every used bike out there seems to) I would do a basic "once over" before regularly riding. A better quality vintage road bike at a great price! I hope you enjoy it! This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach.

Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. A nice bike to cruise the beach or your local park! Priced way less than a dime store bike that wont be around 5 years from now, much less 30+ years like this one! It is never too soon to think ahead and get someone something they may really like!! These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and to my knowledge, have not been reproduced. PLEASE NOTE that many of the bikes I list have listed have been in long term storage and have not been regularly ridden in a while. (not a bad thing) They may need standard tuning, greasing, may have old tires, surface rust etc.
