1977 Schwinn Stingray 5-speed Banana Seat Muscle Bike Deluxe Fastback Vintage S2

  

Here is a rare original April 1977 DELUXE SCHWINN STINGRAY 20 BICYCLE! (Serial number is DN) This bike is from the era when most everything was cool!

The HEMICUDA, Mach 1 Mustang, and Camaro Z-28 come to mind! These bikes are iconic and almost never come along these days! The bike is in its cool factory painted "Radiant Blue" Schwinn frame and forks with original decals. The bike its original screen chainguard, Schwinn Krate style 5-speed "Mag" sprocket, tall Schwinn apehanger handlebars, Schwinn hand grips, chrome fenders, have dents. See front left side of rear Schwinn sissy bar, Schwinn derailleur, (chrome shows age) and more.

The gears shift and the hand brakes are operable. Has an ok looking Schwinn Stingray seat with rear Stingray tag.

(material shows age and is loose on the sides) Has Schwinn S2 rear wheel and a Schwinn S7 front wheel. Has a cool SCHWINN STINGRAY rear tire and the original Schwinn front tire. Front is ok for display or replace for riding. Bike appears to be basically all original parts from when it was new and not really messed with. SEE PICS AND BE YOUR OWN JUDGE!

You COULD use this as a basis to make an original paint "fantasy" Schwinn BLUEBERRY KRATE bike! The bike is an original 3-speed trigger shift with hand operated brakes. (the gears shift and the brakes are operable) May need fine tuning adjustment or possible cable replacement. Has the brake bridge like a Krate being a 3-speed bike for the brake caliper! Now is your chance to own one of the COOLEST bikes EVER MADE!

Make someone in your life happy with this one. This is a cool bike that you can enjoy for years! You RARELY find these bikes anymore! They were all abused and thrown away back in the 1970s-80s.

Finding one these days is a big challenge. They are very cool and people enjoy owning, riding, and displaying them!

Most people do not sell these bikes once they have them. Be the first to get this bike back out in the light and have fun with it! I believe this to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. This would be the perfect date correct basis to make an original paint Schwinn "Blueberry Krate" HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?

NOTED FLAWS I got this one basically just like you see it. This bike is a local barn find from long term storage. It would need a complete restoration from top to bottom for show or enjoy it in its unrestored patina. I LOVE the fact that this one still wears its original paint! (has chips scratches top bar wear age etc) Most of these were destroyed within a few years of them being new The chrome is shiny but shows age and patina.

Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). A great bike to ride or display. Sorry for the LONG description, these bikes really excite me.

I try to list anything I notice with the bike. Keep in mind this is a vintage bike that has probably not been ridden for a while so it may need minor tuning, bearings greased, polishing, etc, These bikes are getting harder to find and are more popular than ever before!

You will enjoy owning, riding, and displaying it for years! People always remember these bikes but seldom see them in person. I take them in to have them packaged so they almost always arrive in the same condition as they left us. Fed Ex just increased the rates.
