Take a virtual ride and visual inspection here. This is a 1973 Schwinn Varsity steel frame road bicycle suitable for racing, city commuting, or country touring. This is an extremely rare well kept bike and is solidly built.

You will not find another one like this. This is a highly collectible Chicago, USA made Schwinn bicycle. This bicycle is in excellent condition, and everything works properly. It has drop handlebars, new brake pads, new tubes, and new puncture resistant 90 psi street tires. Included reflectors keep you visible and safe at night.

The ride is smooth and quiet. The bike has been meticulously refurbished and detailed. The white handlebar tape looks and feels great. The headset, bottom bracket, and wheels have all had their bearings serviced and packed with new grease by a professional bicycle mechanic who knows and loves these fine machines. Chromed 27 wheels spin freely and are perfectly true.

The chain is clean and lubricated. Rat trap pedals are original. The chainwheel has a chainguard. Front and rear Schwinn derailleurs have been cleaned and fine tuned.

Stem dual-lever friction shifters and side pull brakes work flawlessly. The handlebar brake levers include top-bar safety levers for the added ability to brake while on the top of the handlebar as well as on the drops! This is a rare and great looking vintage bike! This bike can be used many ways.

It is a great road bike and also a fantastic commuter bike because it is equipped with street tires. Braze-ons are included, so you can add fenders or baskets to get groceries or carry a briefcase. A rear rack is included! It is easy to put the bike on a bus or train, and it fits on bike racks if you use metro. If you just want to ride fast and far, you can pedal your brains out. It's an all around great bicycle! Sometimes I have other bikes, but they sell fast because they are priced fairly and people like my quality bikes. The front wheel, seat, and pedals will be removed from the bike but located in the box. The handlebars will be either removed or rotated at the headset to fit in the box. The shifters and brake cables will remain intact.
