1972 SCHWINN STINGRAY BANANA SEAT MUSCLE BIKE VINTAGE S2 APPLE KRATE DISC FRAME. Here is a rare original October 1972 SCHWINN DELUXE STINGRAY 20 BICYCLE! (The serial number is KH) This bike is from the era when most everything was cool! The HEMICUDA, Mach 1 Mustang, and Camaro Z-28 come to mind! This one has been in VERY long term storage and cannot wait to be enjoyed once again!

The Stingray and Krate bikes of this era are the coolest and the hardest to find! The bike is in the original and very appealing RADIANT RED (apple krate red color) factory painted color. Has a cool 3 or 5-speed frame, (correctly dated and has the correct design for a disc brake Apple Krate) original forks, wide apehanger handlebars, Schwinn hand grips, cool rear sissy bar and so much more!

I dont know where you would find another like it! The bike is an original three speed with hand controlled brakes.

Has a unique Schwinn Stingray seat! (ripped) Has the Stingray tag on the rear.

It has Schwinn S-2 rear rims with a Schwinn S-7 front rim. Both front and rear tires do hold air. They both appear to be original for the bike! The front is a Schwinn Westwind. The rear is a very unusual Schwinn 20x2.125 GRIPPPER SLIK tire! (most GS tires are 20x1 3/4) This one has the cool legendary 3-speed STICK SHIFTER! This one was discovered in a basement of a long closed up bike shop in Philadelphia PA! Now is your chance to own one of the COOLEST bikes EVER MADE! Make someone in your life happy with this one.

This is a cool bike that you can enjoy for years! You RARELY find these bikes anymore! They were all abused and thrown away back in the 1970s-80s.

Finding one these days is a big challenge. They are very cool and people enjoy owning, riding, and displaying them! Most people do not sell these bikes once they have them. Be the first to get this bike back out in the light and have fun with it!

I believe this to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is ok for its age! Enjoy it like it is or have the perfect basis for an original paint Apple Krate bike!

The paint looks relatively ok for a 45+ year old boys bike! (has chips scratches etc but has survived better than many) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality.

Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) The wheel chrome definitely shows age. (see pics) rear rim has a side dent.

The chainguard is repainted and not nice. The shift cable is not attached and seems short. It seems like there is a shift cable broken inside the rim. NOT trying to nit pick every little thing, just like to be honest.

WITH SOME TLC you will have a cool bike or display it like it is! Otherwise, this bike is AWESOME! I hope you enjoy it! Most people opted for krate bikes in this era so you rarely see bikes like this!

Keep in mind this is a vintage bike that has probably not been ridden for a while so it may need minor tuning, bearings greased, polishing, etc, These bikes are getting harder to find and are more popular than ever before! You will enjoy owning, riding, and displaying it for years! People always remember these bikes but seldom see them in person. I take them in to have them packaged so they almost always arrive in the same condition as they left us.
