1970 SCHWINN PEA PICKER KRATE VINTAGE STINGRAY BANANA SEAT BIKE S2+SPRINGER 20. HERE IS A COOL FIND!

Here is a rare original Jan 1970 Schwinn Stingray "PEA PICKER" 20 Stingray Krate bike. (AF Serial Number) This bike is from the era when most everything was cool! The HEMICUDA, Mach 1 Mustang, and Camaro Z-28 come to mind! This is agruably one of the very COOLEST Schwinn bikes of all time!

EVERY kid wanted one back in the day... Few were lucky enough to own one. You did not see them often back in the day, and almost NEVER see them in any condition these days!

They were designed after the drag racing muscle cars of the time! They hit the nail on the head with this one!

The bike is LOADED with cool options only found on the top of the line "Krate" series at the time. The bike has the cool correct "cantalever" Schwinn frame, cool wide apehanger handlebars, matching green Schwinn hand grips, chrome Schwinn SPRINGER front forks, reflector BOW pedals, (1 is missing a reflector) coaster "Mag" sprocket, chrome front and rear fenders, (I believe the rear was replaced) cool rear SHOCKS sissy bar and so much more! It has the cool Schwinn front S7 rim. The rear wheel is the double knurled S-2 rear wheel with a Bendix hub. Both front and rear tires hold air.

The front tire is a Schwinn Superior. The rear is a super cool factory original Schwinn STINGRAY knobby rear tire! The tires show age, but hey, so do I!

I dont know where you would find another like it! This one has its original PEA PICKER chainguard! (has a fresh decal) The bike is an original single speed with coaster brakes. (you never see the coaster brake models) This bike has been in very long term storage and cannot wait to be enjoyed once again!

The bike appears to be NEARLY 100% original parts from when it was new! (see pics and be your own judge) It has a green Stingray seat. (ripped) It has the Stingray tag on the rear as well as the reflector tab!

This bike has been in storage for a few decades and cant wait to be enjoyed and appreciated! Bikes like this rarely come along in any condition. ESPECIALLY one that has not traded numerous times amongst collectors.

I believe this to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is ok for its age!

The paint looks fair for a 45+ year old boys bike! (yes, it has obvious chips scratches etc) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (seems every used bike out there does too) The springer fork has scrapes etc. The kickstand is painted silver.

NOT trying to nit pick this cool bike, just like to be honest. The KRATE bike series Orange, Apple, Lemon Peeler, Cotton Picker, Grey Ghost, are some of the coolest bikes ever made! This is a great find! They are only original once! Take it to a car show or cruise night!

People remember these but never see them these days! People will talk about you and your cool bike for years! Sorry for the LONG description, these bikes really excite me. People will ENVY you when you ride by at a car show or on the street with this bike! I try to list anything I notice with the bike.

Keep in mind this is a vintage bike that has probably not been ridden for a while so it may need minor tuning, bearings greased, polishing, etc, These bikes are getting harder to find and are more popular than ever before! You will enjoy owning, riding, and displaying it for years! People always remember these bikes but seldom see them in person. I take them in to have them packaged so they almost always arrive in the same condition as they left us.
