1969 SCHWINN APPLE KRATE STINGRAY VINTAGE BANANA SEAT MUSCLE BIKE STIK S2 RED 69. Here is a rare original March 1969 Schwinn Stingray "APPLE KRATE" 20 Krate MUSCLE BIKE! (CE Serial Number) This bike is from the era when most everything was cool! The HEMICUDA, Mach 1 Mustang, and Camaro Z-28 come to mind!

This is agruably one of the very COOLEST Schwinn bikes of all time! EVERY kid wanted one back in the day... Few were lucky enough to own one. You did not see them often back in the day, and almost NEVER see them in any condition these days!

They were designed after the drag racing muscle cars of the time! They hit the nail on the head with this one! The bike is LOADED with cool options only found on the top of the line "Krate" series at the time. The bike has the cool correct ORIGINAL PAINT "cantalever" 5-speed Schwinn frame, wide apehanger handlebars, matching red Schwinn hand grips, chrome Schwinn SPRINGER front forks, (has original S bolts) cool Schwinn BOW pedals, chrome fenders front and rear, 5-speed "Mag" sprocket, cool rear SHOCKS sissy bar and so much more!

It has the cool Schwinn S7 front rim with the correct ATOM drum brake. The rear wheel is a 5-speed S2 Schwinn rear wheel. Both front and rear tires hold air. The front tire is a Schwinn.

The rear tire is a Schwinn REDLINE GRIPPER SLIK tire. (Im guessing that is newer than the bike) I dont know where you would find another like it! Though it is not flawless, I think the paint is respectable for a nearly 50+ year old BOYS bicycle! Love original paint krate bikes! Chainguard has its ORIGINAL "Apple Krate" screen.

The bike has the cool 1969 only angled 5-speed STICK SHIFTER and with operable hand controlled brakes. (YES, even has the overload tube in place) I think this style shifter is super comfortable for riding! Could use standard fine tuning. Seat looks replaced but I may be wrong.

(material is coming up slightly on the sides). The Krate series of bikes is awesome! These bikes continually go UP in value and will make for a great investment!

They were all abused and thrown away back in the 1970s-80s. Finding one these days is a big challenge. They are very cool and people enjoy owning, riding, and displaying them!

I believe this to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. This is a legendary bike! I got this one like you see it. The paint is original but does have obvious chips scratches etc. The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality.

Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) View all the pics and let me know if you have any specific questions. I have nothing to hide!
