1968 SCHWINN SPEEDSTER FASTBACK MENS STIK SHIFT MUSCLE BIKE VINTAGE MANTA RAY 70. Here is an original January 1968 VINTAGE (serial number is AD) mens Schwinn SPEEDSTER road cruiser bicycle with 24 wheels. It is in the original and very appealing RADIANT RED colored factory paint.

If you like UNIQUE original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! THIS WAS BUILT LONG AGO AND IS REALLY COOL! This bike has a cool mens "Fastback" style frame and forks with original paint, original c hainguard , (has a fresh decal) Schwinn high rise apehanger handlebars, matching hand grips, full fenders, and more! This frame is COOL and you almost never see them!

I always thought it would be awesome to make a full size adult Schwinn Fastback or Manta Ray bike in factory RED paint! WELL SOMEONE BEAT ME TO IT AND BUILT THIS ONE LONG AGO! This one has an unusual stick shift, apehangers, banana seat, (non Schwinn has rips) and sissy bar! I got it basically like you see it! A stingray that an adult can ride! No, this bike is not a Manta Ray bike but is the perfect basis to build one. I heard these bikes are getting crazy popular in California these days! The tires are 24x1 3/8. They are vintage tires and do hold air. (rear tire is ok for display or replace for riding) The bike has 2 slightly different style chrome S chwinn rims front and rear.

The bike is an original THREE SPEED (with a cool stick shift) with hand AND coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) Has been in long term storage and will need adjustment or possible cable replacement.

DIMENSIONS The standover height is approx 27. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 26. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 15 1/2.

The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 18 1/2. The bike will accomadate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it. It would need a total restoration for show or have fun with it in its current unrestored "rat rod" type patina. The paint is original and shows obvious age. (has some chips scratches wear age etc) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) Rear wheel is missing one spoke. This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc.

Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike! A great classic bike at a great price Why not ride a bike? If you are looking for a fun bike to ride and enjoy this may be it!
