1964 SCHWINN WASP VINTAGE BALLOON TIRE MENS CRUISER BICYCLE! Here is one of the MOST UNIQUE things I have seen in a while. Here is an original VINTAGE I believe made Feb 26th 1964. The serial number is B463938 men's SCHWINN WASP bicycle with 26 wheels. It is in the original and very appealing RED and WHITE 2-tone colored factory paint.

Is this one the infamous Schwinn "Terra Cotta" red???? If you like relatively clean original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. It was always stored inside in a clean dry area. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike!

This bike has a cool mens cruiser style frame with original paint and decals, truss rod forks, original screen chainguard, nice Schwinn cruiser style seat, wide cruiser handlebars, black Schwinn hand grips, full fenders, and more! I LOVE these old Wsap bikes and had a hard time deciding to part with this one!

These bikes are well built. Many were used daily by paperboys and were abused and thrown away decades ago.

To find one like this is great! Here is the strange part. The very last Schwinn balloon tire bike was the Wasp and was last in the Schwinn catalog in 1962! This bike was produced in Feb 1964. IS THIS one of the very last balloon tire Schwinn bikes EVER made???? If you have any info, or any idea, I would love to hear from you. Now look closely at the color.... Is this the rare Schwinn Terra Cotta red???

Remember the Terra Cotta Stingray that went crazy years ago? This is a very interesting bike!

I love stuff like this! The tires are 26x2.125. They are vintage slightly newer replacement wide whitewall tires and do hold air. The bike has chrome raised center (they are not S2) rims front and rear with a Bendix hub. Now Schwinn stopped producing S-2 rims a few years before this. Did these come on this bike when it was new? The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes.

(pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 30 3/4. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28 1/4. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably.

The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is not bad for its age! The paint looks fairly good for a 50+ year old bike!

(has chips scratches etc but has survived better than most you see of this era) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). IF you enjoy and appreciate VERY VERY unique Schwinn bikes, this may be the only one around? For the vintage Schwinn bike collector who thought they saw it all!

This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc.

Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike!

A great classic bike at a great price Why not ride a bike? If you are looking for a fun bike to ride and enjoy this may be it! A nice bike to cruise the beach or your local park!
