Here is an original March 1959 VINTAGE (serial number is C9) mens Schwinn HORNET cruiser bicycle with 26 wheels. It is in the original and very appealing black and cream 2-tone colored factory paint. If you like COOL deluxe 1950s cruiser bikes, this may be a great bike for you.

It was always stored inside in a clean dry area. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool mens cruiser style frame with original paint and decals, front SPRINGER forks, (non Schwinn) large Schwinn head badge, deluxe Phantom/Panther style chainguard, cruiser style seat, "AS" (Arnold Schwinn) seat post clamp, Schwinn script hand grips, wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn script hand grips, cool pedals, full fenders, (newer) front fender mounted Delta WASP headlight (complete with lens, yes it WORKS) 9 hole rear carrier rack, and more! The tires are 26x1 3/4. They are newer WIDE WHITEWALL tires and do hold air.

The bike has chrome Schwinn S-7 rims front and rear. The bike is an original TWO-SPEED and the gears do operate. This is a super cool "Bendix Aviation" lever shift 2-speed! These are REALLY fun to ride and you almost never see them!

This one has coaster style brakes. Pedal backwards slightly to stop. DIMENSIONS The standover height is approx 30 1/2.

The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 27 3/4. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22.

The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is nice! The paint looks good for a 55+ year old bike!

(Obviously the fender and guard are painted black) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) I know my friend built this bike. He started with an original paint frame and built it.

He did a great job!!! If you are looking for a perfect nut and bolt original' this is not the bike for you.

If you would enjoy a very cool 1950s bike that is loaded with cool parts, you may enjoy this! This one was built to ride! Would make an awesome display as well! A great "bundle" of good stuff!

This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc.
