1956 SCHWINN RED PHANTOM MENS TANK BICYCLE VINTAGE SPRINGER PANTHER BLACK B6 DX! Here is an original VINTAGE I BELIEVE this bike was made June 27th 1956. The serial number is W89954 and is stamped on the rear dropout men's Schwinn RED Phantom bicycle with 26 wheels. I have had a few of the world famous BLACK PHANTOM bikes over the years but this is only the 2nd or 3rd Red Phantom bike I have ever seen!

It is in the original and very appealing RED and BLACK colored factory paint. If you like TOP DOG, TOP OF THE LINE original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! To me this bike is amazing! Every kid wanted one of these back in the day, few were lucky enough to get one!

Consequently, the originals are not easy to find these days in any condition. In fact, these bikes are so Iconic, Schwinn made an awesome reproduction of this bike back in 1995 during the 100 Year Anniversary of Schwinn!

This bike has a cool mens B6/Phantom cruiser style frame with original paint, awesome front SPRINGER FORK (has one S bolt) large Schwinn head badge, frame mounted TANK (originally had a horn) deluxe chain guard , deluxe sprocket, Super cool crashrail seat (ripped) with a cool prewar lucky 7 post, easy to swap out if you dont like it. Wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn script hand grips, full fenders , 9 hole rear carrier rack, Schwinn Persons Supreme pedals, and MORE!

If you bought all these parts individually, you would spend THOUSANDS of dollars and it would take a LOT of time to do so! Dont think they are easy to find either as they are not! Get this in one nice package! The tires are 26x2.125. They are slightly newer replacement and do hold air.

The front is an Allstate. The rear is a Good Year The bike has chrome Schwinn S-2 rims front and rear with a Bendix rear hub! The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 31 1/2.

The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 29. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22.

The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.

NOTED FLAWS This is an amazing find! I LOVE original paint bikes! The paint looks ok for a 60+ year old bike! Has chips scratches etc but has that patina that so many people LOVE LOVE LOVE! The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. The front rim has a side dent.

(see pics and be your own judge) The bike pedals forward but goes into a "freewheel" mode when pedaling backwards. NOT trying to nit pick every little thing, just like to be honest.

This is such a cool bike that they made a reproduction of the BLACK Phantom back in 1995. The RED is a rare find and was not reproduced. (original stuff is best anyway) If you would enjoy a real deal COOL original frame Phantom at a great price, you may really love this one. IN CLOSING, this is a truely AMAZING FIND!
