1954-56 SCHWINN RED PHANTOM MENS TANK BIKE VINTAGE SPRINGER BLACK B6 BICYCLE DX! Here is an original VINTAGE I BELIEVE this bike is a 1954 OR 1956 model. The serial number is N39881 and is stamped on the rear dropout men's Schwinn RED Phantom bicycle with 26 wheels. I have had a few of the world famous BLACK PHANTOM bikes over the years but this is only the SECOND Red Phantom bikes I have ever seen!

It is in the original and very appealing RED and BLACK colored factory paint. If you like TOP DOG, TOP OF THE LINE original bikes, this may be a great bike for you.

With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! To me this bike is amazing! Every kid wanted one of these back in the day, few were lucky enough to get one! Consequently, the originals are not easy to find these days in any condition.

In fact, these bikes are so Iconic, Schwinn made an awesome reproduction of this bike back in 1995 during the 100 Year Anniversary of Schwinn! This bike has a cool mens B6/Phantom cruiser style frame with original paint, awesome front SPRINGER FORK with "AS" Arnold Schiwnn bolts, large Schwinn head badge, frame mounted TANK (originally had a horn) deluxe chain guard , deluxe sprocket, Super cool Schwinn cruiser seat, (not bad but shows age, missing a couple corner buttons) "AS" Seat post clamp, wide cruiser handlebars, newer Schwinn hand grips, full fenders with fender mounted "train" headlight, (has lens, untested) cool rear Schwinn glass reflector lens, 4 hole rear carrier rack, newer "AS" Schwinn Persons Supreme pedals, and MORE! Check out the cool Red Crown gas station valve stem caps. Reminds me of the old gas pump, signs, etc I got this one just like you see it! I LOVE original paint bikes!

This one is relatively nice for its age compared to most! If you bought all these parts individually, you would spend THOUSANDS of dollars and it would take a LOT of time to do so!

Dont think they are easy to find either as they are not! Get this in one nice package! The tires are 26x2.125.

They are cool newer replacement Schwinn Typhoon Cord wide whitewall tires and do hold air. The bike has chrome non Schwinn rims front and rear with a New Departure rear hub! The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes.

(pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 31. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28 1/2. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22.

The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS This bike is cool and has survived better than the majority you will find.

The paint looks relatively nice for a 60+ year old bike! Has chips scratches etc but has that patina that so many people LOVE LOVE LOVE! The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them.

As you can see this bike is not 100% original parts from when it was new but is a fairly good representation. IF you are looking for a perfect nut and bolt original, keep looking. This is not the bike for you.

If you would enjoy a real deal COOL original frame Phantom at a great price, you may really love this one. NOT trying to nit pick this amazing ride, just like to be honest! This is a rare find! IN CLOSING, this is a truely AMAZING FIND!

These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and to my knowledge, have not been reproduced. PLEASE NOTE that many of the bikes I list have listed have been in long term storage and have not been regularly ridden in a while. (not a bad thing) They may need standard tuning, greasing, may have old tires, surface rust etc.
