If you like cool top dog TOP OF THE LINE vintage bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool mens STRAIGHTBAR cruiser style frame, frame mounted TANK with horn, (untested) Schwinn locking SPRINGER FORK with "AS" (Arnold Schwinn) bolts AND KEY, large Schwinn head badge, cool deluxe Panther chainguard, slightly newer cruiser style seat, AS seat post clamp, wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn script hand grips, full fenders, (have dents) front fender mounted DELTA ROCKET RAY headlight, (I installed 2 batteries and it did nothing) 4 hole rear carrier rack, cool pedals, Schwinn sprocket, and more! I was told the horn and light work.
This is a TOP OF THE LINE bike of the time! You rarely see them in any condition and are cool bikes! The tires are 26x2.125.They are vintage slightly newer replacement wide whitewall tires and do hold air. (front one has a small spot missing from the side but holds air) The bike has factory chrome Schwinn S-2 rear rim with a Bendix 76 rear hub.
The previous owner said he liked what he called heavier duty rims from a later model Schwinn Cruiser. The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes.
(pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 31. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22.The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it. The paint does have chips, scratches, etc and has been touched up in places.
I love the light original pinstriping on the sides of the tank. The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) I believe the fenders, sprocket, wheels, and seat have been replaced.
(see pics and be your own judge) ALSO, the one leg on the rear rack is slightly short. It is tucked in behind the nut. IF bolted to it, the rack sits angled slightly.
It works fine but I wanted to point that out. NOT trying to nit pick every little thing on this cool bike, just like to be honest. VIEW ALL PICS I took many and have nothing to hide!Overall, this is one of the coolest bikes you could ask for! A rare bike that has that amazing 1950s look to it! I truly hope you can appreciate this one for what it is. This is a much harder bike to find than a Black Phantom or a Krate bike.
This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike! A great classic bike at a great price Why not ride a bike? If you are looking for a fun bike to ride and enjoy this may be it! A nice bike to cruise the beach or your local park! Priced way less than a dime store bike that wont be around 5 years from now, much less 30+ years like this one! Please give this bike a good home and DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY! Classic bikes are very cool because not everyone on the block has one! People love to see and talk about and ride these classic bikes! They are more popular now than ever before! This may be a great Birthday or other special holiday gift for someone!
It is never too soon to think ahead and get someone something they may really like!! These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and to my knowledge, have not been reproduced. PLEASE NOTE that many of the bikes I list have listed have been in long term storage and have not been regularly ridden in a while. (not a bad thing) They may need standard tuning, greasing, may have old tires, surface rust etc. I try to be as honest as possible and never want to disappoint anyone. I try to be as honest as I can and disclose anything I know about the bike. I want you to be excited about your new bike and hope you really enjoy your new vintage ride for years to come. We try to package well so the bike arrives to you in the same condition as it left us. Fed Ex just increased the rates. This is a 10+ day service and includes packing. I always try to keep things as reasonable as I can. The item "1952 SCHWINN PANTHER MENS STRAIGHTBAR TANK BIKE VINTAGE HORNET DELUXE PHANTOM S2" is in sale since Thursday, November 21, 2019.
