1950s JC HIGGINS MENS VINTAGE RAT ROD TANK BIKE ELGIN SCHWINN TANK SKIPTOOTH 50. Here is an original 1950s VINTAGE (serial number is hard to read but there) mens JC Higgins beach cruiser bicycle with 26 wheels. This bike is awesome and has lots of potential. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike!

Ive had a few JC Higgins "Color Flow" bikes over the years but this is the first bike I have ever had like this! This is a real deal unrestored Wisconsin "Barn Find" rat rod patina bike in cool unrestored condition! This bike spent a few decades hidden away in a "hay loft" in a Wisconsin barn. It cannot wait to be enjoyed once again! This bike has a cool original design mens frame and forks with original paint and decals, truss rod forks, frame mounted TANK, JC Higgins head badge, original "dog leg" cranks and sprocket, (no chainguard) cruiser style seat, (needs resto) wide cruiser handlebars, vintage hand grips, full fenders with cool factory wrap around fender braces, rear fender reflector housing, (housing only) REALLY COOL rear carrier RACK, unique pedals, (the one does not spin) and more! I got this one just like you see it and think it is awesome!! They did not sell many of these when they were new! Consequently, they were rare back then and next to impossible to find today! The tires are 26x2.125.

They are vintage tires and do hold air. The one is an old Firestone tire. The other is a slightly newer 26x1.75 replacement. The bike has 2 slightly different style painted rims front and rear with a New Departure rear hub.

The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS: The standover height is approx 30 1/2. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28 1/4. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 21 1/2.

The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.

NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it. I love the fact that this bike still wears its original paint!

It comes like you see it and has just the right amount of patina! (see pics, I took many and have nothing to hide) Restore it or enjoy it just like it is! The bike would need a total restoration from top to bottom for show. It has lots of age, patina, wear, etc. Its such a great look these days!

Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bicycle out there seems to) Front wheel is missing a spoke. The neck bolt seems tight but the front fender is NOT bolted to the forks.

BIKES like this rarely come along. A good investment that will only go up in value! This bike has SO MUCH POTENTIAL!

This would really turn some heads in the back of an old truck at a car show or on cruise night! This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by.

People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike! A great classic bike at a great price Why not ride a bike? If you are looking for a fun bike to ride and enjoy this may be it!

A nice bike to cruise the beach or your local park! Priced way less than a dime store bike that wont be around 5 years from now, much less 30+ years like this one!

These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and to my knowledge, have not been reproduced. PLEASE NOTE that many of the bikes I list have listed have been in long term storage and have not been regularly ridden in a while. (not a bad thing) They may need standard tuning, greasing, may have old tires, surface rust etc. I try to be as honest as possible and never want to disappoint anyone. I try to be as honest as I can and disclose anything I know about the bike.
