1950 SCHWINN BLUE PANTHER MENS STRAIGHTBAR TANK BICYCLE VINTAGE PHANTOM HORNET. Here is an original VINTAGE I believe Dec 11th 1950. (Serial number is G517112 and is stamped on the bottom of the cranks housing) men's SCHWINN PANTHER STRAIGHTBAR beach cruiser bicycle with 26 wheels. It is in the original and very appealing 2-tone BLUE colored factory paint. Have you ever seen a Panther in this color combination before!!! If you like unique UNRESTORED original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. To me, this bike is absolutely AMAZING and they almost never come along like this! With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool mens straight bar Panther cruiser style frame with original paint and decals, cool chrome locking SPRINGER front forks with AS (Arnold Schwinn) bolts AND key, frame mounted straight bar TANK (has dents, no horn) original paint Phantom style DELUXE Panther chainguard, large Schwinn head badge, cool cruiser style seat, wide cruiser handlebars, blue Schwinn script hand grips, full fenders, not great but are here! Deluxe sprocket, nos 1995 Schwinn Persons Supreme pedals, 9 hole rear carrier RACK, and more! I believe this bike would have came with a Delta Rocket Ray front fender mounted headlight when the bike was new. This bike has been in very long term storage and cannot wait to be enjoyed again! The tires are 26x2.125. They are vintage slightly newer replacement WIDE WHITEWALL tires and do hold air. The bike has factory chrome Schwinn S-2 rims front and rear with a New Departure rear hub. The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 30 1/2.

The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably.

The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is relatively ok compared to many you see!

The paint looks ok for a 65+ year old bike! It is a very unusual 2-tone BLUE color. (I have never seen this) I love the light original pinstriping on the sides of the tank.

Im guessing this tank came from another bike? The paint has chips, scratches, etc but has survived better than many. The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Wheel chrome etc would need resto for show.

I LOVE the look just like it is! Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). Im guessing the rack may have been replaced as well? Overall, this is one of the coolest bikes you could ask for! A rare bike in a rare color... I truly hope you can appreciate this one for what it is. This is a much harder bike to find than a Black Phantom or any Stingray Krate bike. If you are looking for a perfectly flawless "nut and bolt original" this is not the bike for you. If you would enjoy a real deal original in a super hard to find color, you may enjoy this one! I took lots of pics, I have nothing to hide. This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted.

A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc.
