Just removed from a local basement, in the house where it has been since it was new, and probably hasn't been used since the 1950s-60s. The bike was stored against a basement wall that was moist, so the side that was near the wall has more rust spots and wear than the side that was facing away from the wall. There is a dent in the tank and a few other dents from when this was used by a boy in the 1940s-50s.
The brake is marked "New Departure" and there is a piece of wire supporting the brake where the little bracket was broken. The Goodyear tires are shot. All of the chrome parts have surface rust. Overall, this will need a deep cleaning.
We wiped it off, but there is still caked-on dirt and grime on the surface. The headlight appears to be broken and the front basket had all of the mounting screws removed. The reflector(s) are missing from the back.
We do not see any significant damage to the frame, but if you think we missed something, please let us know.
