1940s SPIEGEL AIRMAN PREWAR MENS CRUISER BIKE VINTAGE SCHWINN ELGIN DX 1930s? Here is an original 1940s possibly 30s or 50s? VINTAGE (The number is S2585 and is on a tag on the cranks housing) men's Spiegel "Airman" balloon tire beach cruiser bicycle with 24 wheels. These are VERY unique and you rarely see them in ANY condiion! With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool design mens cruiser style frame and forks, (has that Schwinn DX style and look) Spiegel Airman head badge, cool chainguard, crash rail cruiser seat, (has a slight lean) wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn sprocket, Schwinn pedals, FULL FENDERS, and more! The more you look at the frame design, the more you will love it! The frame design is VERY unique and has a great look! I believe this may have been made by Monark?

You almost never see them in any condition! For the bike collector who likes something a little different than the same things everyone else collects!

Mens prewar non Schwinn bikes are steadily gaining popularity and are hard to find! This is the perfect starting point for an amazing bicycle! The tires are 24x2.125. They are vintage tires and do hold air. This one has painted rims/wheels with a New Departure rear hub! The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS A good size bike for a slightly shorter rider that would enjoy a vintage bicycle. The stand over height is approx 27 3/4. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 25 3/4. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 15.

The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 19. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.

NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it. It has been in long term storage and cannot wait to be enjoyed again! I believe was repainted long ago. Looks to have been welded by the cranks (or is not a great factory weld) before it was painted.

(not a big deal, see close up) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). The neck does not fully tighten. (a shim, or piece of black tape should take care of that or a slightly wider neck) NOT trying to nit pick every little thing, just like to be honest!

This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by.
