1940s SCHWINN WWII LIBERTY DX MENS BALLOON TIRE CRUISER BIKE VINTAGE PREWAR POST. Here is an original 1940s VINTAGE (Serial number is B58171 and is stamped on the bottom of the cranks housing) men's Schwinn LIBERTY beach cruiser bicycle with 26 wheels. A unique bike from a great era! If you like cool original bikes, with unique names, this may be a great bike for you. I LOVE these, they are tough to find! With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool mens cantalver style cruiser style frame and forks, super cool LIBERTY brass head badge, Schwinn whizzer feather style Chainguard, cruiser style seat, "AS" seat post bolt, wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn neck with correct "AS" (Arnold Schwinn) bolts, newer hand grips and pedals, full fenders, Skiptooth chain, sweetheart sprocket, "pencil" kickstand, and more!

I love antique bicycles with the unique names of this era You rarely see them! (Schwinn Packard, Cadillac, Shelby, Corvette, LaSalle, etc etc etc). The tires are 26x2.125. They are slightly newer studded replacement tires and do hold air. The bike has raised center rims front and rear with BLACKOUT front rear hubs!

(Morrow rear hub) This bike is loaded with COOL stuff! The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 31 1/4. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28 1/4. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 3/4. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.

NOTED FLAWS Restore it for show, have fun with it like it is, or use it for its hard to find parts! The bike was obviously repainted at some point. The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them.

(most every used bike out there seems to). Rear fender is missing a low brace.

The world did not produce much of anything besides for stuff to fight the war during this time. Lots of things were recycled so finding a bike of this era is awesome! I hope you can appreciate this for what it is! This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted.

A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike!

PLEASE NOTE that many of the bikes I list have listed have been in long term storage and have not been regularly ridden in a while.
