1940s SCHWINN NEW WORLD RACER BICYCLE VINTAGE WWII BLACKOUT SUPERIOR TRAVELER 40. Here is an original 1940s VINTAGE WARTIME!!! The serial number is 001389? And is stamped on the bottom of the crank housing mens Schwinn NEW WORLD 1-speed road cruiser bicycle with 26 wheels.

If you like UNIQUE original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike!

This bike has a cool mens cruiser style frame and forks, cool brass head badge, blackout wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn script hand grips, full fenders, SKIPTOOTH dogleg cranks and sprocket, Torrington? Pedals, newer comfort cruiser seat, cool kickstand, and more! What makes this one cool is the BLACKOUT Wartime era skiptooth cranks, sprocket, handlebars, etc. Read your history and you will appreciate this! This was made during World War 2 and you almost never see bikes from this time! Great to restore or hard to find lightweight bike parts such as a World, New World, Traveler, Paramount, Superior etc. The tires are 26x1 3/8. They are vintage slightly newer replacement CHAIN TREAD tires and do hold air. The bike has chrome Schwinn rims front and rear with a Skiptooth rear hub. The bike is an original 1-speed with coaster brakes. (pedal backwards slightly to stop). I have a couple more of these from this era if there is an interest in this one. Both are in nice condition. I have kept them around for a while in my own collection. The mens has an adjustable neck similar to the ones on the Autocycle. The ladies one has the original receipt and paperwork! DIMENSIONS The standover height is approx 31. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 31 1/2. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 21. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 21 1/2. The bike will accomadate most any rider comfortably.

The seat height is easy to adjust. SO, I bought this one basically like you see it. It came with some extra parts from another mens bike that I have for sale on a SEPARATE LISTING. Available but NOT included with this listing.

See last pic The previous owner said the front wheel that I have listed separately was actually the one born on this bike. (has a blackout hub) The chrome wheels came from the bike with the other parts that I have listed separately. RIGHT NOW I have 7 SEPARATE listings with related items for sale. I have a WWII era Schwinn New World mens bike, 1940s era New World parts including a brass head badge with screws, front and rear fender set, forks, skiptooth cranks set, front wheel with a tire that holds air and a blackout hub, AND a chainguard! The bike has obviously been repainted. Chrome is shiny but not perfect show quality.

Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) Rims have a couple cracks. (see close up pics) Rear wheel is missing a couple spokes.

Rear fenders is splitting by the top brace. This one has been in long term storage and cannot wait to be enjoyed once again! A really cool fixer upper.

These are gaining popularity and are getting harder to find by the day! This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach.

Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike! A great classic bike at a great price Why not ride a bike?
