1940s SCHWINN HORNET STRAIGHT BAR MENS TANK BICYCLE PANTHER B6 DX VINTAGE 1950s. Here is an original I believe 1940s.

The serial number is B41836? Men's Schwinn Hornet Straight bar tank bicycle with 26 wheels. It is in the original and very appealing maroon and cream 2-tone colored factory paint. If you like relatively clean unrestored original bikes, this may be a great bike for you.

It was always stored inside a clean dry area. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool mens cruiser style frame with original paint and decals, truss rod forks, tank with rare factory reflective Schwinn decals with WORKING horn inside, original screen chainguard, cruiser style seat, wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn script hand grips, full fenders, front fender mounted Delta ROCKET RAY headlight, deluxe Phantom/Panther style chainguard, sweetheart sprocket, skiptooth chain, "AS" (Arnold Schwinn) seat post clamp, 9 hole rear carrier rack, (a little wavy) and more! This is a near TOP OF THE LINE bicycle of the time!

You rarely see them in ANY condition! I hope you love it! The tires are 26x2.125. They are vintage GOOD YEAR G-3 tires and do hold air. The bike has some relatively nice looking factory painted and pinstriped Schwinn S-2 rims front and rear with a New Departure rear hub.

The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 31. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28 1/4. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is not bad for its age! The paint looks respectable for a 65+ year old bike!

(has chips scratches etc but has survived better than many) The chrome is shiny but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). The crank arm comes quite close to the chainguard when riding the bike. This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted.

A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike! A great classic bike at a great price.
