1940s SCHWINN DX PACKARD MENS TANK BICYCLE CRUISER HOT/RAT ROD VINTAGE ANTIQUE! Here is an original VINTAGE I BELIEVE 1946-48? The serial number is C31573 and is located under the cranks housing men's SCHWINN DX "PACKARD" tank bike with 26 wheels. It is in the original and very appealing red and white 2-tone colored factory paint. If you like cool unrestored original bikes, this may be a great bike for you. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool mens "DX" cruiser style frame, brass "Packard" head badge, truss rod forks, original TANK with horn inside, (untested) original whizzer "feather style" cruiser style seat, (ripped) "AS" Arnold Schwinn seat post clamp, wide cruiser handlebars, coke bottle hand grips, (have chips etc) full fenders, 9 hole rear carrier RACK, SKIPTOOTH chain and sprockets, cool pedals, and more! I love antique bicycles with CAR names! (Schwinn Packard, Cadillac, Shelby, Corvette, LaSalle, etc etc etc) The tires are 26x2.125. They are vintage tires and do hold air. The bike has 2 slightly different style white painted rims front and rear with a New Departure rear hub. The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 30 3/4. The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28 1/4. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it.

It would need a total restoration from top to bottom for show or enjoy it in its current unrestored "rat rod" type patina. I LOVE the original paint but it shows obvious age patina, etc.

The chrome would need resto to be perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). Finding an undiscovered unrestored original bike like this these days is a huge challenge!
