Here is one of the COOLEST prewar bikes I have offered in a while! Here is an original 1930s VINTAGE (serial number is M0815036 and is stamped on the bottom of the cranks housing) men's ELGIN tank balloon tire tank bike with 26 wheels.

This bike is LOADED with great components and is one of the coolest "Rat Rod" prewar cruiser bikes I have ever seen! With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! One of the guys in the local bicycle club owned this one and wow....

I think he really nailed it! This bike has a cool mens cruiser style frame, truss rod forks, frame mounted TANK, super cool heavy spring seat, lucky 7 seat post, cool head badge, hockey stick chainguard, CROSSBAR handlebars, full fenders, "skiptooth" chain and sprockets, "dogleg" crank, cool pedals, rear carrier rack, "dropstand" rear kickstand with rear fender hanger, and more! Check out the cool "prewar" rear dropouts! I like everything about this bike!

This one was built to ride! Ride and enjoy it just like it is or restore it to a cool factory original. This is an amazing bike and i would call it the "total package" I had a hard time deciding to part ways with this one. I think it is so cool and he really did this one right! The tires are 26x2.125.

They are almost NEW red beach cruiser tires and do hold air. The bike has raised center (I believe these are called triple step) rims front and rear with an Elgin rear hub.

The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 31.

The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 29 1/2. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 19. The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably.

The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it! It has obviously been repainted. The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to). I dont know for sure what is original and what is not. (see pics and be your own expert) I think the majority of the bike is fairly original but its been a long time. I know he added the tires, hand grips, and pedals. Either way, it is a really cool bike!

That would be a shame to do as I think it is great just like it is! The choice is yours of course. The Elgin and Schwinn bikes from the 1930s are arguably the most collectible bikes made! Remember the Elgin Blackhawk, Bluebird, Skylark, Miss America, Cardinal, Twin, etc?

This bike is right from that era and none of them are easy to find! God knows the stock market is tough! I hope you enjoy this one! It will really turns heads when you ride or display it! This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike! A great classic bike at a great price Why not ride a bike? If you are looking for a fun bike to ride and enjoy this may be it!

A nice bike to cruise the beach or your local park! Priced way less than a dime store bike that wont be around 5 years from now, much less 30+ years like this one!

These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and to my knowledge, have not been reproduced. PLEASE NOTE that many of the bikes I list have listed have been in long term storage and have not been regularly ridden in a while. (not a bad thing) They may need standard tuning, greasing, may have old tires, surface rust etc.
