Vintage 1971 Schwinn Lemon Peeler Stingray 5 Speed Stik-Shift Atom Drum Restore. This is a beautifully restored Lemon Peeler that originally rolled off the Schwinn factory line in December of 1971. The frame has been powder coated making the serial number hard to photograph but it reads MG56808.

The powder coating was done very well and looks fantastic. The seat appears to be original and is flawless. It could have been recovered at some point but, the vinyl feels older than other recovered seats I've come across. Both fenders are correct for the bike with the safety edge and appear to be original. The front Atom drum brake works very well and has some normal patina that will naturally occur over the years.

The front S-7 rim has some normal pitting with an original Schwinn Superior Made in USA Nylon tire. The rear S-2 rim is in similar shape with a reproduction Schwinn Slik tire that looks brand new. The handlebars and stem could be in better shape but are still not the worst I've come across. The stem dates to 1968 and the bars date to 1973, not matching the bike, but are period correct. The Mag crank dates to 1971 matching the frame and is in good shape.

The chainguard has also been repainted and has a decal as opposed to the original silk screen. Springer front fork is in good shape with some normal wear and tear with the correct S bolts. Seatpost has been replaced but still has the correct S seatpost clamp. Sissy bar is in good shape with normal wear and tear and the shocks still work very nicely.

Cable covers, streamers, and chain lock have been added for the some extra flair for some double take looks. The rear derailleur has also been replaced. This bike has received a full tune up and shifts wonderfully. Be sure to look at all the photos to see the true condition of this cool, dreamy bike from back in the day.
