Vintage 1966 Schwinn FAIR LADY Stingray Bicycle VIOLET Banana Seat MUSCLE BIKE
Vintage 1966 Model J89-6 Schwinn "FAIR LADY" Stingray 20 Girl`s Bicycle - Used! It is listed as accurately as possible. There are lots of photos and the description is lengthy.. If you have questions I will try to answer as best I can, thanks!
Frame dated LB (November 1966). Fork dated 11+6 (November 1966).Original Violet paint in excellent condition with minor scrapes, scratches, etc. Chrome is not perfect but as you can see, it`s very nice! Wide "down swept" butterfly bars (dated `67) are full size from a boys bike, have minor scrapes on top and nice chrome. Crank (dated `66) and lucky 7 sprocket have nice chrome.
Rims are 28 spoke Schwinn, both nicely side stamped. Both rims stamped "Schwinn Tubular S-7". Nice chrome with no major issues and original spokes.
Rear hub is a Bendix RB2 `Red Band` coaster brake. Tire is Made in U. " Schwinn 20" x 1 3/4" "Gripper Slik in very good condition. Front hub is Schwinn script, axle is dated Z-66 (1966). " Schwinn 20" x 1 3/4" "Westwind in very good condition.
Both OEM Schwinn fenders look excellent and are the rolled safety edge style. Violet glitter banana seat is an 18", unbranded Persons style copy and the pan is stamped "pat. It does have a repair on the left side which is along the bottom edge but looks very nice and is soft and pliable. It has nice Q bolts.
Sissy has a few scrapes on top. Reflector is original 3 1/4 2 pie. Post is original and has the early style, long "AS" stamped clamp. Violet glitter grips are original with minor wear and scrapes. Pedals are `66 large diamond `non-reflector` marked Made in Germany. They have the blocks that don`t spin and have readable Schwinn logos. Everything works smoothly and the rims run straight... Will need to be cleaned and adjusted upon arrival but a very nice 52 year old bike. It`s a clean example with no junk parts.Please look at the pictures closely.
