Vintage 1965 1966 Schwinn SLIK CHIK Stingray COPPERTONE Banana Seat MUSCLE BIKE
Vintage 1965 (with mostly 1966 parts) Model J-90 Schwinn "SLIK CHIK" Stingray 20 Girl`s Bicycle - Used! It is listed as accurately as possible. There are lots of photos and the description is lengthy.. If you have questions I will try to answer as best I can, thanks! Frame dated MA (December 1965). Fork dated 5+6 (May 1966). Original coppertone paint in very good condition with minor scrapes, scratches, etc. Chrome is not perfect but as you can see, it`s very nice! Wide butterfly bars have minor scrapes on top and nice chrome. Crank (`66) and lucky 7 sprocket have nice chrome.
Rims are 28 spoke Schwinn, both side stamped. S-2 rear "Schwinn Tubular" and front "Schwinn Tubular S-7". Nice chrome with no major issues and original spokes. Rear hub is a Bendix RB2 `Red Band` coaster brake. Tire is a brand new 20" x 2.125" Duro cheater slick.
Front hub is Schwinn script, axle is Union/Germany (not dated). Tire is a brand new 20" x 1 3/4" Westwind repop. Both fenders look excellent and are the rolled safety edge style. Cool banana seat is an original, 18", unbranded "fuzzy fur leopard print with nice Q bolts.Sissy has a few scrapes on top. Reflector is original 3 1/4 2 pie.
Post is original and has the early style, long "AS" stamped clamp. Clean "chubby" white grips are original with minor wear and scrapes. Pedals are small diamond marked Made in U. They have the blocks that spin and nice Schwinn logos. Everything works smoothly and the rims run straight... Will need to be cleaned and adjusted upon arrival but a very nice 53 year old bike. It`s a clean example with no junk parts. Please look at the pictures closely.
