Vintage 1953 Schwinn Wasp 26 Fully Restored / Original Patina
VINTAGE 1953 SCHWINN WASP 26 FULLY RESTORE / ORIGINAL PATINA. This bike has been fully restored, preserving its original paint and patina and the following has been updated to make it the perfect most durable custom cruiser for years to come. This cruiser was restored, to be ridden, that is why I chose this combination of rims and tires. They are just perfect for a Classic Schwinn.
If you are looking for a Collector's Vintage Schwinn to ride and enjoy for years to come and just not look at it like a trophy, then this is the bike for you, this bike has the best components that you can ask for in a rebuild, the ride is a pure joy and to top it off it is beautiful to look at, everyone will notice your ride!! Fender were roll and have no indentations. All bearings and bearings cups were replaced with Original New Old Stock (NOS).
The front sprocket is NOS. Rims were replaced by new technology, with Velocity Dually tubeless downhill. Tires are Schwalbe Fat Franks two tone. Front Hub is a Sturmey Archer X-FD 70mm Drum Brake Hub.
Seat has been improved to a Lepper Hygia CX Anatomic Saddle. Chain is a Crown original NOS. All tire fender brace NOS. Two sets of petals, MKS 3000R for everyday and a set of Brand New Original Schwinn Phantom petals. All decal stickers were replaced by NOS from Bicycle Bones.
All other parts were replaced with NOS items that were carefully selected to match the original. The stem is an aftermarket, because the original is too short for the intended build, but the original is included. Also included are the parts that were originally on the bike.
26 S2 Rims, that were sandblasted and primed to protect from corrosion. New set of rim line stencils. Original Crankshaft and Front sprocket. Please, feel free to ask any question.
