Amazing Vintage 1981 Schwinn King Sting 26 Bmx Cruiser Old Bike Mtb Survivor USA

  
Up for sale is a beautiful 1981 Schwinn King Sting 26 BMX Cruiser. She had the local bike shop here in Texas install these V-Bars for her when she bought the bike new to make it easier for her to ride the bike. Unfortunately the original bars and brake levers were kept by the bike shop. This is the smaller frame size which is actually cooler looking in my opinion because it gives the bike more of a BMX cruiser look than a mountain bike look. The bike is in immaculate condition and I have replaced the brake and shifter cables, brake pads, grips and chain.

I still have the original Schwinn Gumwall knobbies and tubes, but the tires are very hard and cracked and are no longer usable. I cleaned and regreased all of the bearings using Park Poly Lube. The only real blemish on the bike are some scratches on the bottom of the frame behind the bottom bracket (see photo). Other than that the paint is in very nice shape. The blue anodized parts are all in excellent condition.

The bike rides, shifts and stops perfectly. I'd have to say that this is about as close to new condition as you can get for a bike that was ridden. All that being said, it is a 37 year old used bike and does have wear. Please ask all questions before hitting the BIN button.
