1950s SCHWINN PANTHER MENS STRAIGHTBAR BICYCLE VINTAGE PHANTOM HORNET SPRINGER! Here is a 1950s VINTAGE The serial number appears to be B68662 men's SCHWINN PANTHER STRAIGHTBAR beach cruiser bicycle with 26 wheels. It is in the painted a 2-tone blue like the factory did and looks cool! This was a TOP OF THE LINE bike of the 1950s and they almost never come along in any condition!

With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike! This bike has a cool mens straight bar Panther cruiser style frame, cool chrome SPRINGER front forks with AS (Arnold Schwinn) bolts, (bike would have been born with a frame mounted straight bar TANK) original paint original screen Phantom style DELUXE Panther chainguard, large Schwinn head badge, super cool crashrail seat, (looks recovered) "AS" (Arnold Schwinn) seat post clamp, wide cruiser handlebars, Schwinn comfort hand grips, full fenders with original Delta ROCKET RAY headlight, no lens or bulb, the headlights are almost always missing! Schwinn sprocket, cool pedals, 9 hole rear carrier RACK, and more! One of the cool local bike guys built this one as a rider! He took it on a 12 mile ride and said it performed great!

The tires are 26x2.125. They are new replacement BALLOON TIRES in red and do hold air. The bike has chrome (non Schwinn) raised center rims front and rear with a Bendix rear hub. The bike is an original SINGLE SPEED with coaster brakes. (pedal slightly backwards to stop the bike) DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 31.

The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 28 1/2. The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 3/4.

The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22. The bike will accommodate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust. NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it!

The bike has obviously been repainted! It is a very unusual 2-tone BLUE color. Looks nice when riding but is not a professional restored paint job.

The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. Wheel chrome etc would need resto for show. I LOVE the look just like it is! Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to).

Fender chrome is not great. A roller should make them look nicer! This is a nice riding bike!

Overall, this is one of the coolest bikes you could ask for! A rare bike in a rare color... I truly hope you can appreciate this one for what it is. This is a much harder bike to find than a Black Phantom or a Krate bike.

I took lots of pics, I have nothing to hide. IF you are looking for a perfect "nut and bolt original" this is not the bike for you.

If you would enjoy a cool bike, loaded with some great features at a great price, you may enjoy this one! Enjoy this one for a fraction of that cost! Add up the value of the parts alone. There is much more here than you think!

Add a tank and you will have a sweet looking bike to display or ride! This appears to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc.

Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike!

These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and to my knowledge, have not been reproduced. PLEASE NOTE that many of the bikes I list have listed have been in long term storage and have not been regularly ridden in a while. (not a bad thing) They may need standard tuning, greasing, may have old tires, surface rust etc.
